This portfolio site showcases the work of Eloise Kerr; an artist and jewellery designer maker from Scotland. Eloise graduated with a BA Honours in Silversmithing and Jewellery from The Glasgow School of Art in 2006 and since then she has been working in Glasgow and travelling. She has just returned from an inspirational eight month trip around South America and is now working from her studio in South Ayrshire.
Eloise has always been fascinated by intricate, organic forms and her work from the final year of her degree was based on the patterns and textures of reptiles. Her work can be described as ‘nature inspired’ but her interpretation of this subject is quite unconventional. She has recently been working on paintings of colourful organic patterns that have evolved over time from her abstract tattoo designs in black ink.
These creations have been described as 'otherworldly' and many images, such as those of insects and skull-like forms, can be seen emerging from her abstract paintings. Interested in how these look and feel three dimensionally, Eloise uses the forms to design and create unique contemporary jewellery, made mainly from silver and semi-precious stones.
The Vagabunda jewellery collection is now available to buy from the shop.
